Looking for some place to take the wallets to dinner when they come to town? Or, looking for an upscale-but-not-snotty, local-but-not-a-chain restaurant for a great date or uncomfortable meet-your-mom's-boyfriend kind of a dinner? Or, just enjoy rather expensive but seriously good food in a grown-up environment ? If so, the Monument Grill is likely to be your best choice in the area.
The food at the Monument Grill is on the pricey side, but it's very good and worth the price. There's a nice wine list and the mixed drinks are quite good. Our waitress was funny, patient and attentive - and the pleasant, soothing atmosphere of the restaurant set us all at ease immediately. Paying the bill is not for the fainthearted (check their website first if you're interested in the menu and prices ), but the dining experience is unparalleled in the Fitchburg / Leominster area.
There is also the option for outside dining, complete with colorful umbrellas, which undoubtedly makes for a more-Europe-than-Mass atmosphere for lunch or dinner on a warm day.
